“In the Bag of an iPad” – By Peter Lusk
Apple and its products seem to get all of the attention these days but there are a couple of chip stocks that may peak your interest and I’m not talking about Frito Lay (PEP)
Cirrus Logic (CRUS) provides the chips used for the iPad’s headphone amplifier. Cirrus has more than doubled in the last year and is currently trading $21.23
Texas Instruments (TXN) supplies the chip which runs the driver for the iPad’s touch screen. Texas is up 70% over the past year and is now trading at $34.71
Oh, and Frito Lay (PEP)? Down about $1 over the past year to $65
Sometimes you have to look in the bag and under the hood to see what really drives such fascinating technology. Who knows, digging into some chip stocks and getting your hands a little greasy may evolve into a finger licking good investment opportunity.
