Special Guest Rings The Opening Bell at The CBOE

The CBOE is pleased to pay tribute to the newly inducted Sergeant Major of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III, who will ring our opening trading bell tomorrow, Wednesday.  Sergeant Major Chandler, the 14th Sergeant Major of the Army, is the Army’s highest ranking enlisted soldier and serves as the Army Chief of Staff’s personal advisor on all enlisted-related matters, particularly in areas affecting soldier training and quality of life.

Sergeant Major Chandler will arrive on the trading floor at approximately 8:20 a.m. As in the past, traders and staff will be lining both sides of the center aisle, providing a rousing welcome by waiving American flags as he and other guests walk past to the bell platform.

Sgt. Maj. Chandler’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, eight Meritorious Service medals, eight Army Commendation medals, two Army Achievement medals, Korea Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award and Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Combat Action Badge and others.

Welcome to Chicago and The CBOE, Sergeant Major Chandler!
