Markets pre-opening appear firm. S&P futures up 4 points after retreating 11 points yesterday. VIX coming in at 32.85 after tacking on 0.98 yesterday. Europeans talking tougher on debt, whatever that means.
Target Strores gave analysts a nice surprise with earnings this morning, announcing $1.03 per share for the latest quarter, above $0.97 expected. They also raised their yearly expectation. BJ’s, Staples and Chico’s also surprised with better results.
