Volatility as an asset class:
 
Seagate (STX), a storage component developer, is down 87c to $24.24 in the premarket after reporting preliminary weak Q4 revenue guidance. Overall option implied volatility of 48 is near its 26-week average.
 
Informatica (INFA), a software/cloud/enabler company, is down $11.84 to $31.53 in the premarket after preannouncing weaker than expected Q2 results. Overall option implied volatility of 42 is near its 26-week average.
 
Navistar (NAV) is now lower, after being up 58c in the premarket, after saying its clean engine technology will meet regulations. Overall option implied volatility of 71 is above its 26-week average of 46.

U.S. equities fell sharply after the June jobs data. 80,000 jobs added, 100k+ were expected (Range was 35k to 165k). Unemployment rate steady at 8.2%. Revisions for April and May offset each other. Global markets off, Spain 10-year bonds back above 7%.
