AOL (AOL) is recently up $1.13 to $34.05 after announcing an authorization of $5.15 per share special cash dividend. Overall option implied volatility of 27 is below its 26-week average of 31.
Apple (AAPL) is recently up $14.56 to $677.76 after winning a court decision against Samsung (SSNLF). August call option implied volatility is at 29, September is at 26, October is at 28; compared to its 26-week average of 30. August weekly 670 and 680 calls are active on total call volume of 159K contracts at CBOE.
Best Buy (BBY) is recently up 76c to $18.06 after the company’s board agreed to a deal permitting founder Richard Schulze to conduct due diligence as part of his offer to take the company private. September call option implied volatility is at 51, October and December is at 55; above its 26-week average of 46.

CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) is recently up 68c to 15.86 as U.S. stocks are mixed to higher as traders contemplate price action into next week’s European Central Bank meetings.
