Volatility as an asset class

MBIA (MBI) is recently up $3.60 to $13.53 after its settled a suit with Bank of America (BAC). May call option implied volatility is at 147, June is at 89, August is at 86; compared to its 26-week average of 71.

General Motors (GM) is recently down 5c to $32.05 on news the U.S. Treasury will begin selling 241K shares of the company.  May call option implied volatility is at 31, June and September is at 24; compared to its 26-week average of 30.

Adobe (ADBE) is recently down 25c to $46.76 after the digital creative and marketing service company reaffirmed Q2, FY13 financial targets. May call option implied volatility is at 21, June is at 25, August is at 23; compared to its 26-week average of 24.

CBOE S&P 500 2% OTM BuyWrite Index (BXY) is recently up 1.65 to 1299.20, above its 10-day moving average of 1290.66 and its 50-day moving average of 1269.76.
