Volatility as an asset class

Guess (GES) is recently up $3.20 to $32.55 after the clothing company reported better than expected Q1 earnings and inline sales.  June and July call option implied volatility is at 26, September is at 33; below its 26-week average of 39.

Lions Gate (LGF) is recently up $2.23 to $30.27 after the movie studio reported better than expected Q1 results. June call option implied volatility is at 38, July and September is at 31; compared to its 26-week average of 34.

Netflix (NFLX) is recently up $4.04 to $226.81 on the announcement the company will be added to the NASDAQ-100 Index on June 6. June call option implied volatility is at 47, July is at 45, August is at 58, September is at 54, December is at 50; compared to its 26-week average of 55.

CBOE S&P 500 2% OTM BuyWrite Index (BXY) is recently down 85c to 1303.50, below its 10-day moving average of 1304.38 and above its 50-day moving average of 1288.43. www.cboe.com/BXY
