Blogging Options: CBOE Morning Update 2.21.14

Semi-quiet morning.  Existing Home Sales 30-minutes into regular session will be watched closely.  if Ukraine ceasefire holds this may calm world markets.

Priceline.com (PCLN) is up $39.70 to $1322.70 in the premarket after Q4 earnings and revenue beat expectations, though the company’s Q1 outlook was a bit short of expectations. February call option implied volatility is at 136, March is at 37, April is at 33, July is at 29; compared to its 26-week average of 27.

HP (HPQ) is higher by $0.41 to $30.61 after reporting earnings and revenue and giving Q2 and fiscal 2014 earnings guidance that was in-line with expectations. February call option implied volatility is at 119, March is 31, May and August is at 30; compared to its 26-week average of 34.

Groupon (GRPN) is down $1.38 to $8.90 in the premarket after the company reported Q4 billings, gross profit and EBITDA below it estimates and guided 2014 EBITDA $20M below  expectations. February call option implied volatility is at 181, March is at 78, April is at 67, July at 64; above its 26-week average of 64.
