CBOE Mid-day Update 6.5.14

DJIA moves higher by ~90 points, NASDAQ higher by ~1%.  BA, CAT & CVX pulling Industrials higher, while telecoms only S&P sector lower.   ~11mm options trade through mid-day, with SPX volume at 710k and VIX at 345k.   VIX retreats 0.40 to 11.70.  AAPL Weeklys traded over 200k options this morning.  Baseball fans mourning loss of Don Zimmer, 60 years in MLB as player, coach, manager and mentor.

Zynga (ZNGA) is down $0.34 to $2.93, an eight-month low after a presentation last night by the company’s CEO Don Mattrick at a conference. Zynga June call option implied volatility is at 71, July at 62, August is at 64, September is at 65; compared to its 26-week average 60.

Apple (AAPL) is off $0.30 to $644.52 into a 7-for-1 stock split on June 6June 13 weekly and June option implied volatility is at 29, June is at 23, July is at 22, August is at 24 and October at 23; compared to its 26-week average of 25.

Sprint (S) is down $0.32 to $9.08 after Reuters reported that the company agreed to purchase T-Mobile (TMUS) for $40 per share. June, July and August call option implied volatility of 44 is below its 26-week average of 53.
