Apple (AAPL) is up $8.56 to $117.66 in the premarket after reporting the largest profit in corporate history and reported Q1 iPhone units 74.47M vs. 39.27M last year.  January weekly call option implied volatility is at 86, February is at 46, March is at 37; compared to its 26-week average of 26.

VIX methodology for Apple (VXAPL) at 42.25, compared to its 50-day moving average of 31.33.

AT&T (T) is up $0.59 to $33.44 on Q4 earnings of $0.55 cents per share excluding items, up from $0.53 cents a share in the year-earlier period. T also reported 1.9M net subscriber adds. January weekly call option implied volatility is at 42, February is at 23, March is at 21; compared to its 26-week average of 16.

VMware (VMW) is down 1.12 to $79.49 in the premarket on Q4 double-digit revenue increase, as the computer-server software pioneer on a profit decrease to $326M vs. $335M a year earlier.  January weekly call option implied volatility is at 93, February is at 41, March is at 35; compared to its 26-week average of 29.
