YELP: Looks Like a Good Review

We have a bullish trade setup in YELP ($70.53, up $1.30).  So far, YELP has held above a key price support decision  at the $62.16 – $62.98 area. There were also a couple of timing cycles evident at this recent low. We have already seen some buy triggers since holding this support.  As long as […]

Long SINA After 10% Correction

As long as SINA Corp. (SINA, $86.50, off $2.10) holds above the $79.13 swing low made on October 9th, I want to take my buy triggers against one of two support clusters that I’m seeing above this low.  The first area comes in at $83.08 – $84.63.  The second zone comes in at $81.05 – […]

PCLN – Now What?

Priceline (PCLN, $998.13, off $43.55).   Fibonacci timing cycles were good about warning us of an impending cycle high with PCLN around 9/30-10/3. You can see these cycles on the daily chart below.  The actual high was made on 10/3….but NOW WHAT?? Now that we are finally seeing a healthy correction within the larger uptrend, […]

PCLN Buy Setup

Everyone was getting excited about PCLN after earnings about a potential move to $1000.00.  That was NOT the time to buy….that was when we made the recent highs! Now that PCLN has pulled back a bit I have a buy setup that I’m looking at.  I like to keep the “edge” in the market so […]

PNRA – Fibonacci Price Cluster

It is the WEEKLY chart in PNRA (Panera Bread, $170.70, off $0.87) that has me interesting in this stock.  If you backed it up and looked at the bigger picture, you can see how symmetrical the corrective declines are JUST by eyeballing the chart.  I actually did the work also as you can see by […]

Monsanto Stalking a Re-Entry

In early July I had a buy setup in $MON. Now we did get a nice rally off an initial test of the zone, but then started to fail.  Most traders would have stopped themselves out of the position once it started to fail.  Now what do we do with this however?  Well I […]

CELG: At a Crossroads

We are at a crossroads in CELG.  The last buy side trade setup on the daily chart came in with a Fibonacci price cluster zone at the 108.25-110.96 area.  Now CELG faces an important hurdle on the way up.  If this hurdle can be cleared, 137.61 is the 1st major upside target off the 6/24 […]

NFLX – Buy the Dip?

I like NFLX ($228.83, off $0.40) against the 6/13 low for a few reasons. First there was what I call a Fibonacci price cluster that came in between the 202.58-205.33 area.  Second, price is currently above both the 50 and the 200 simple moving averages.  Third, I saw what I call TIME symmetry at the […]

SLV – The Bigger Picture

I’m not big into counter trend trades which I’ve stated before, but when I see a major support decision on a WEEKLY chart I start to pay attention. I’m seeing this in SLV (I-Shares Silver Trust, $ 21.53, off $0.08). right now.  On the weekly chart I’m seeing a very important support decision coming up […]

BIDU – Bullish Trade Re-Visited 5.20.13

A couple of weeks ago, I shared a counter-trend trade setup with you in Baidu (BIDU, the Chinese-language Internet search provider, $98.68, up $3.96). We did see the buy side triggers on that one and some nice rallies have followed.  I now have to throw the caution flag on this one as we have recently […]

UNG: Share Price Gassing UP

I have two standout Fibonacci price cluster zones in UNG (United States Natural Gas Fund, $21.20, up $0.05. 12-month range $15.18 to $24.09) to watch for a possible buy entry. The definition of a price cluster is the coincidence of at least 3 Fibonacci price relationships that come together within a relatively tight range and […]

BIDU – Playing the Breakout

I don’t talk about counter-trend trades much, unless I see key time and price parameters that suggest it is worth taking a look at. BIDU ($87.34, up $2.83.  52-week range $82.98 to $134.71) is what I’m looking at here on the weekly chart.  Now since this is counter trend, typically I suggest using something like […]

AAPL Breakout at 3/25 High?

I’m sure the burning question in AAPL ($430.17, up $13.00) is whether or not this last low is a major low or not. Let’s look at some parameters here.  First we did make the last low into some Fibonacci time cycles after making a little more than a 1.618 extension of  the prior swing up […]

Health Buy Zone in VISA?

I have a healthy buy zone in VISA (V, $165.00, off $0.16) here with a Fibonacci price cluster decision that comes in on the daily chart at the 161.27-163.67. Although we have seen some shorter term buy triggers against this zone, it will be a MUCH safer bet on the buy side IF the resistance […]

AMZN — Decision Time

When I see a huge price cluster zone like the one on this daily chart of AMZN ($255.70, down $2.05), I don’t know whether or not the market will hold above it for sure. What I do know however is that it is a rather important decision. As long as price remains above it, I […]

Bullish Set Up for INTU

The last time we had a setup on INTU it was on the Options Profits site and done will Jill Malandrino. We ended up seeing just over an $8.00 rally from that last setup zone. Well it’s setting up again. Recently the higher end of support in this stock was violated, but we are still […]

DDD Pullback Looks Like a Buy?

The current pullback in $DDD that is now SIMILAR to some of the prior larger declines on this daily chart and I now want to stalk this stock on the buy side. Support in this one comes in at the 53.52-56.84 area. This zone includes the coincidence of at least 5 Fibonacci price relationships. Notice […]

IBM Setting Up To Leg Up

The earnings report in IBM yesterday actually supported the bigger picture bullish setup in this stock. I still have higher targets in this stock. Target 1 remains at the 219 handle. What I am interested in at this point is the pullback zone at the 200.97-202.62 area. This zone includes 3 100% projections of prior […]

LULU — Potential Buy

I’m looking at this pullback in LULU as a potential buying opportunity. There are two areas of support that show up on this daily chart. The first zone comes in at 72.23 – 72.40. The second zone comes in at 70.59 – 70.90. Both of these areas include symmetry projections. If one of these zones […]

JOY This Holiday Season

I’ve been stalking JOY ($58.00, up $0.57) for a long time due to the weekly chart and the possibilities it shows me. On this weekly chart there were both key time and price parameters at the last low made in JULY!! Note the similarity in the time of the prior declines. I have illustrated the […]

Facebook — Testing Support

For the FB ($21.22, up $0.11) lovers or haters…..Here is a chart that shows you this stock should ideally hold above the 19.35-20.68 area if it is any good. If it does not, new lows are quite possible. We are currently testing support right here right now. Personally I only use triggers to see whether […]

CYT – Chart Looking Good

I like the overall pattern in Cytec Industries (CYT, $64.65). As long as price holds above one of these key price cluster zones, I’m looking at taking my buy triggers in this stock. The potential upside target if we hold above the Oct 10 low is $71.98. This stock has moved up nicely in the […]

BIDU – Hurry Up and Wait

I’m looking at a new setup in BIDU ($110.04, up $1).  If the 9/28 high is any good, then selling a pullback to it would be a winning strategy. The area I’m looking at for a possible short (ONLY IF A TRIGGER fires off) is the 111.37-113.08 area. This zone includes a .618 retracement along […]

CAT Climbing Higher

I’m looking at a trade setup in Caterpillar (CAT, $85.28) Key price support has been tested and is holding so far at the $83.98 – $85.40 area.  This zone includes a .618 retracement a .786 retracement of another swing and a minor 1.618 extension.  It is a SAFER bet on the buy side if we […]

Pattern Developing in SPY Chart

Check out the similarity in the declines on this SPY chart.  As long as price continues to hold above this recent low, the upside targets come in at 149.51, and 151.30-53. Key symmetry support has held on this chart. Remember that the definition of symmetry is SIMILARITY or EQUALITY of swings in the same direction. […]
